once that did happen! I went out for a bit and my landlord put icecream in my freezer while i was gone. it was a fantastic magical surprise!

I don't reckon it's really for food. It's more of a comfort thing or perhaps some bizarre habit / ritual.
My folks still live in the house where I grow up and whenever I visit I go straight to the fridge and simply open the door, don't think I even look properly.
In fact only truly realised I did this when my Mom asked what i expected to find every time. Brother does the same!

Ive done this only because i have a tendency to overlook things especially those secret compartments the drawers down below and the hidden butter dish, you be surprised at some of the things I've found in there lol

i do that alot...i think sometimes i think 'maybe i just wasnt looking properly' ...so i'll go back 3 or 4 times hehe. I do it when im in a shop aswel...when they dont have something left of a food that i really want like chocolate...i'll keep going back to the isle 'just incase' it may magically appear. I just cant help it!

OMG that is sooo true.. ive had just milk in my fridge and still gone back to it 3 or 4 times for something when ive been starving... lol that is soo funny

sometimes a bucket of chicken will come to the fridge to graze, Ive also found that various pies will nest at certain times of the year, and you'll never know if you run into the elusive, nocturnal ham and cheese sandwich that comes out to mate

That is so true! When im bored i just go to the fridge and eat and then i go back later thinking mmm new food! ?

Maybe your food craving has changed from salty to sweet or something like that and a "same" food will look better than it did earlier.

Maybe they eat mold? Maybe they have a cold and needs some penicillin and because they can't afford to buy it that they have to make some. :(
