You say I should have compassion for the less fortunate? Funny you should say that when you know nothing of me and base your opinion on a statement I made that I find very true. The less fortunate can consist of more then foreign people trying to invade our country and then trying to impose their beliefs or way of life on us, and then for the majority of them to turn around and murder our people, yeah, these are the people you want me to have compassion for? I think not, I save my compassion for the people who REALLY need it, besides, I believe you're posting in the wrong catergory. As for you other people, say what you will, I'm used to religion getting flamed and your petty comments faze me not. This is after all, why the world is the way it is, people have no respect or self control. I did post this for all the OTHER people out there that are actually christians and care to know things like this, maybe it's a hoax, maybe not, only time will tell.

For those of you that state something along the lines that this isn't the most disgusting thing, I should get out more, I'm sad, blah blah blah. I don't expect you to understand, but it's ok =). As for the ones that state a movie shouldn't shake my faith and such, I never stated it would, it's simply defamatory to God, therefore I would not watch it. Nor would I waste my time or money on such a thing. Now for the ones that state theres been tons of Christian movies, it's about time for this kind of movie, get over myself, well, I believe I am over myself. I'll state again that I posted this for the people that would actually care. If you want your children to see atheist movies, by all means, let them, if you don't want them to see Christian movies, by all means, don't let them, simply do as you've instructed me to do and get over the Christian movies, move on, get a life. They are your children, I'm not telling you what to do with them.

Oh really? I just bought my son that book. Guess that was a lucky choice on my part. I find it funny and ironic that Christians get so worked up about this, yet they want to have their Christian prayers and beliefs taught in public schools -- to children!

Pullman's a great writer, on form, though I prefer the shorter tale "Clockwork" to almost everything else he's produced.
It's not currently a crime to be an atheist, so why be surprised when one produces work consistent with his beliefs?

And you find something not to your taste or philosophy "disgusting" beyond anything you've ever heard of?
Get out more.
Find some real horrors to be disgusted about.
A short or long list can be suggested upon request, should your imagination fail you.

By the way, what's your take on "Stardust"?
Paganism and witchcraft run riot?
Some people should be burnt at the stake?

I can't wait to see it! It looks great! I'm probably going to buy it for everyone at Christmas.

Nothing like a pious christian, loving, caring and tolerant. Just like a true christian, judgmental and pious. - The movie isn't out yet and you are judging it already! Forget the trailers.

The worst movie was Mel Gibson's Christ thing. Where does he get justification for such a monstrous, pathetic, sadistic movie? I suppose you must have loved it.

Half of every thing that comes out of the movie industry is chocked full of happy little Christian values. So now a movie comes out that challenges Christian concepts of god and chooses to be openly atheistic? So what? Are you so feeble-minded that you can't watch a movie with a differing view on religion (namely, that it's ridiculous) and not have your faith shaken? True faith transcends a damn movie.

Get over yourself. As if there haven't been too many Christian themed movies that are trying to promote and indoctrinate our children. What's wrong with letting them see the other side of things.

Why is it so awful for our children to see something that may be anti-theism, but its okay to indoctrinate our children into a misogynistic, xenophobic religion that promotes bigotry and rewards ignorance.

wow, calm down. you will have to learn the difference between reading or watching something, and believing what it portrays. learn critical thinking.

just watching a movie should not freak you out. if you do not want to spend your money to support the book or the movie, then don't. i just think you are a little Too upset.

watching a movie, or reading a book, is not going to taint your mind or spirit...not if your faith in your beliefs is strong. grow up.

Wow! I had no idea about the plot for the movie when I saw the trailer, but now I am absolutely going to go see it, and I think I'll go order the books right now! Thanks for the heads up, it would've been a shame to let this one go under the radar!

The most disgusting thing? Do you live inside a plastic bubble? Have you never gone outside?

Give me a break. It is a what, at most a PG-13 rated movie with a viewpoint? Heck, it is probably rated PG.

Sounds like a publicity stunt, and it's going to work. Did you see how much publicity Dan Brown got for the DaVinci code, or JK Rowling for Harry Potter? People love this kind of controversy and make big big money from it.
