Put a skillet on the stove, put a small piece of butter in it and turn on the stove.

Butter two pieces of bread on one side each...

Put one piece of bread in the pan, put cheese (Sandwhich cheese (and or) Provolone (and or) any other kind of cheese on that piece of bread in the pan) Depends as to what you liek, you can put turkey in there too... Get out some Mrs. Dash and throw it in the middle for a little spice up... Also use some ground red pepper... If ya want you can add a little salt and pepper to the mix...

Then put on the top piece bread and flip until golden brown =] goodluck!

It's a simple and straightforward item, but experience never hurts. Pretty much everyone gave you the same basic directions, i.e., butter one side each of two slices of decent bread, put a bit of butter in a HOT frypan, put the first slice of bread (butter side down) in the pan, layer a couple of slices of cheese on that, then put the other slice of bread (butter side up) on top. Don't keep flipping it -- it takes longer to cook. The thing I do differently is that I cover the pan while cooking the first side so that the cheese is REALLY melted. Check the first side after a couple, few minutes (if you are doing a bunch of batches of them, later batches will cook more quickly). When the first side is golden and toasty looking, flip the sandwich and do the other side -- again, check before removing from pan. I love this with pickles (sweet or dill) on the side. On a cold winter's night, add a bowl of tomato soup. Can't beat it.

Two slices of your fav bread, butter lightly one side of the bread. Place on a griddle and lightly brown the buttered side. Remove, butter the other side, place the uncooked side down, add your cheese slices and a little mayo, spread it out on the cheese. Place the other slice of bread, toasted side in towards the cheese and butter the untoasted side. When then side on the griddle is browned, flip it over and brown the other side. That makes the bread nice and crunchy and the cheese melts nicely as it cooks.

My grandson didn't like all that hassle. His mother would slap slices of cheese between two pieces of Wonder Bread, put it on a plate and zap it for 30 to 40 seconds in the microwave and call it good. He didn't like anything on his sandwich but the cheese and bread. It would also be good with thin slices of tomato in the sandwich.

Ok guys, what's with all this "extras". That doesn't make a grilled cheese. Just give me the bread, cheese (at least 3 slices), and I like to add Mircle Whip. Enjoy no matter what recipe you use.

Grill the bread, then turn it over and put grated/sliced cheese on top, grill until it melts and the bread looks done.

Add what you like, Worcestershire sauce, I like putting mustard and ketchup on the bread before the cheese, then you could eat it with mac and cheese, but it's also good on its own.

You could buy toaster bags, make a cheese sand witch, then just put it in the bag and put that in the toaster.

Toast your bread butter and add cheese slices and heat under the grill in the oven until cheese has melted.
You could add some fine slices of onion, or tomatoes.

first you get two pieces of bread put butter on the out side of the bread put cheese on the inside the parts that don't have butter then put the butter side in a skillet (pan) then put it on 6 or 7 heat and cook it....then depends on if you like it brown, soft, burnt. anything you flip it over on the opposite side take it out when you're down then waalaa you have a grilled chees ~tada~

The simplest way is to butter one side of two pieces of bread, put the cheese in the middle, buttered sides out. Then heat in a skillet on medium on both sides until the bread is golden brown.

Butter both sides of each piece of bread, place them in a skillet (medium heat on the stove). Brown both sides of the bread and then place a slice of Kraft American Cheese on one piece of bread. Now I like mine smashed so depending on your style, put the other piece of bread on and wait for the cheese to melt by flipping the sandwich. Enjoy
