I made some meatballs yesterday. I put them in the freezer because they have egg. Today I want to cook them for lunch, and wonder if it's necessary to defrost them, because frozen meatballs that you get at the supermarket don't need to be defrosted. The ones I made are going to be fried before cooking them completely with the spaghetti sauce.

You do not have to defrost them. Just fry then and then add to the sauce. It will take a little longer to cook.
Next time, fry the meatball before you freeze them, like that you can just add them to the sauce when you need them and save time.

The frozen ones you buy in the store are already cooked. Since yours are raw, I'd defrost them with the microwave or in the fridge before cooking. If you plan on baking them, you can get away with not defrosting them first - just increase your time a little. If you are going to use them in spaghetti sauce, drop the frozen balls in boiling water and cook them that way. Then they won't be hard.

It will be better to defrost them otherwise they will splatter in the oil, burn on the outside and be uncooked on the inside.
They would have been safe to leave in the fridge covered overnight.
