say your total caloric intake for the day is 1500 cals then:

1500 x .20 = 300 cals

1 gram of protein = 4 cals
1 gram of carbs = 4 cals
1 gram of fat = 9 cals

300 /9 = 33.3 grams of fat daily

if you want to be precise you should look at the label of all the foods you ate and add up the 'calories from fat'

say you've ate 1235 calories today and 250 of those from fat.

take 250 and divide it by 1235 = 20 %

It will come out as .20 then a bunch of numbers.

300 from fat, divided by 1235 = 24 %

Here is the formula:

Example: 1 bagel = 220 calories, 2g fat

2 x 9 = 18, 18/20 = .08

You take the amount of fat and you multiply that by 9. You take that answer and divide it into the amount of calories. You convert that into a percentage. The example above tells me that my bagel was almost !0% fat which is below 20%. All of your meals for the day should be under 20% of fat. Good luck!
