I understand your point. Essentially every type of theist believes in a creator or group of creators, although they may have different beliefs about it/he/she/them.

Jesus Christ taught that there was power and authority in his name. We should pray in his name; be baptized in his name; we can cast out devils in his name; become the Sons of God through belief on his name, etc... I don't know if the sounds or syllables matter but I think there is something in a name that does matter.

In the world of words, He would like us to know his name. He, the universal He, even said that they will all have to know His name. Even so He works with us where we're at. In the intellectual sense, we will always be learning of Him, but we can sense Him and that is to whom we pray and connect. Father would do fine for that, but we have two fathers. I'd rather be called dear 'and' for my name to be know. My name has a certain distinction also. Must it be either/or? Both is best, although not something to die for right now, since our definitions are so different. While we pray to our sense of God, like gravity, if I call it love, we will all get confused. It might be possible for someone to be closer to God and not know his name and someone, being further from Him or blocking the relationship, may 'know' the name and not the character. As a matter of fact, that seems to be a general rule, so we have more to gain from one another than lose by relating. And arguing about words is such a waste. My hope is that one day we will agree on the name and be in the same spirit, not one or the other only. It's just a truth that to know the name is usually to not know much else. lol

Jesus grew to become into careful to maintain his distinctness from and subservience and inferiority to God. He needless to say grew to become into no longer "the only real God" who had sent him, taught him, shown him what to do, and properly known him as His own son in front of witnesses. The EARLIEST Christians did no longer kill human beings, yet they could have excommunicated all and sundry espousing this variety of Greek theory because of the fact the Trinity. the assumption is that by using our sins we improve into unworthy to attitude God immediately, so it truly is ideal for those persons who've been urged interior the way issues are to make a connection with our savior as we pray, as a effect praying interior the call of the Lord (regardless of if some persons have self assurance that he's Jesus). in keeping with possibility we won't return to God as perfect and spotless babies, yet we are able to return to him as purified and observed grandchildren.

I don't think it makes any difference what name we use to address our Heavenly Father. Like an earthly father He wants only for us to commune with Him.

In many ancient cultures the name of God was not given or was not spoken in order that it not be profaned. The Jews are still very serious about not writing the name of God so that it will not be profaned.

None know the True Name of God. The closest answer I know is the one He gave to Moses. "I am that I am" or "I am He who Is"; depending upon the translation. Religion is a human thing. God doesn't need it. I don't believe a good bit of it. Whatever out Lord is; He/She isn't what you think.

The underlying energy that supports and sustains our universe, it exists within all things from snails to stars, and answers to any and all names. Not only within our universe but beyond it, it is all that is nameable and also the unnamed.

I don't. I know what I believe in my heart and soul and that is good enough for me and God.

Well, brother_steve01, probably for the same reason Evangelical missionaries don't like being referred to as JWs. For each, they're the "only" truth, but they still like their identity to be unique.
