I would talk specifically about your goals and what this money would be used for. The scholarship donors want to make sure that there money is going to good use after all. And don't just say, "this money will help me reach my goals." Instead, say exactly what use it will go towards like, "this will help me pay for additional expenses such as _________ so that I can focus more on succeeded in my studies of _________."

I have worked very hard to achieve where I am today. I feel that I have something to offer society, and want to continue to be further educated in my area, ______. My funds are very tight, and I have always felt your college(university) would fit well with my goals.

put that you have worked really hard and that this money would be a big help in getting where you want to go in life
