I had to walk away and think about this Q for awhile, still don't
know if I have an A of interest! It would take a novel!
of ancient history!
Religious freedom I believe has always been relative.
I don't think it is relative for non-believers, in some sence other then the fact it bars themfrom any thing goes, to let free will run wild to any thing goes. No rules, change rules, Unaware or ignore cause & effect. At the same token, there
are some so called religious that give religion a bad name
to fuel the fire against religion. I my self take the good and let the bad go. as there is good and bad in every thing!!!! as all
involves human beings, and all human beings have shortcomings and defects with religion or with out it. I "try" to
live via the bible to my ability, not by man made laws of some
religions. Any way try to keep it simple, live and let live and leave the rest to God. Love and God one and the same to me
NEITHER can be forced upon any one. It's a choice. I am
gratiful and blessed it is my choice. Blessings

Well how do you intend to keep someone from beliving something different then you? You can not have religious slavery becuse you can not enforce it. My faith hasnt been practiced in a 1000 years (till 50 years or so ago) But it lived on in the hearts of the people it was meant for and now it is back to spite those that would keep it down.
religion is free. Locke had it right. we have rights we are born with and they can not be taken or given away.

It depends on which context you are citing.
In the US, I'd say it has become the opposite of relative.

and are we going to see an increase of religious persecution? will the non-believers seek to put to death all who believe in Christ and await his return? because we've waited 2000 years and it hasn't happened?

No, those who have no God and are in the minority are trying to cause those who have faith to lose their rights. God has been in school, government, and everywhere else since this country was founded. Atheists are the ones that are intolerant and can't just ignore what annoys them.

Only when you get idiotic dogma out of our laws will we truly become free. LIKE gay marriage for example. Or stem cell research.
