I am the main source of income and live in a pricey area. I don't want to get lowballed (because I need to provide for my family), yet I don't want to come off greedy.

My staffing agency isn't the best when it comes to taking care of their associates. I dought that they will be willing to give out that kind of information.

It varies, but I've heard they usually add about 30% to your rate. You could ask the temp agency; you should be entitled to know, because if they pad your rate too much, they're endangering your chances of getting the job. Depending on the type of job, you can also tell the temp agency the hourly rate you want and they'll just add their take to it. You can be in control--you don't have to be lowballed. Of course, if you ask for too much you won't get any offers.

Good luck with your job search!
