I have "peace" written on my wrist in four different languages.

Today, someone noticed, and asked about it. I held my wrist out for them to see, and she looked at it for a second, then looked me straight in the eye for a long while. I simply stared back, and she looked at my wrist one last time, before saying, "You're in my prayers."

Prayers are generally directed to God, and I really don't get it--why the hell would GOD care what I have or don't have on my wrists??

Some Christians believe any kind of self mutilation is a sin. Even pierced ears are a sin in the eyes of some, so a big tatoo on your wrist could be a big no-no to her, despite what it says. On the other hand, I know a few christians with bible scriptures tatooed on them, so its definitely not a sin to everyone....who knows, people are crazy...

Although some Christians might believe that a tattoo is a form of self-mutalation, which the bible is against, many do not see it this way. I believe that because we have so much medical experience nowday that tattoos and piercings are almost completely safe and do not count as self-mutalation. When the bible was written, however, a tatto, piercing or any other thing similar would almost certainly lead to disease and infection, which meant that doing it showed no respect for their bodies. Therefore, the situation was completely different back then than it is now.

The person that you came across might have had this beliefe, although it is not very common. It also could be that you took it the wrong way and her saying she would pray for you didn't really have anything to do with the tattoo.

Leviticus 19:28, says Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. The Bible teaches that we are not to get any markings on our
bodies and that was what she was talking about. However our God Jesus Christ is a merciful God and I know He will forgive you of anything you have done if you will ask him to, I have done worse things then that and my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has forgiven me of it. What is important about your meeting this person is the fact that God used her to remind you of something, that you need to become a Born Again Christian. Jesus said in John 3:3 that except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven. Unless you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ you are lost and going to spend eternity with the devil. In her own way she was trying to reach out to you, please do not be offended, Jesus Christ died on a Cross for you and me. He was crucified, beaten and tortured. All to wash away our sins. His death, burial and resurrection opened the door of salvation to everyone who will believe, if you would like you can be born again right now, just pray this sinners prayer and start a new life with Jesus, just say Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

They probably assumed it was some kind of witchcraft incantation. They decided to send an incantation of their own to God. Apparently theirs will supersede yours.
