It could mean she was raised in the south.
We had a little HR etiquette talk at our company about calling people Hon' darlin' sweetie - Strangers on the phone, clients, coworkers - It was realy rampant in our Texas offices.
For southerners, it's just polite slang, usually used by a woman to denote she likes and trusts you.

It doesn't necessarily mean anything. If she doesn't normally call you that and she just started it, I would ask her about it.
I've noticed a lot of people from the southern US tend to call people, "hon" or
"sugar", instead of using names. If that's the case, don't be offended, it's just good 'ole southern hospitality.

Nothing at all. It's just a term. In Baltimore, everyone is "hon".

Probably not much. It really depends the girl, what she said before and after. Sometimes the strangest things come out of their mouths.

Doesn't mean anything - I use it equally towards both men and women, so long as I like/know them!
