I read all these questions about little 14 year old years wanting tattoos and piercings but their parents won't let them and they don't know WHY their parents are so mean and what can they do to do it secretly?!

If you go find somewhere that will let little 14 year old girls get tattoos and piercings, you probably shouldn't get one done there.

I just find it all ridiculous. Just venting!

Agreed..and in Illinois, for instance, doing so would be a class A misdemeanor. They will find scratchers who do home parties and the like and get horrid tattoos that they have no idea are hideous. WORSE...with the high prevalence of MRSA today, we have issues other than Hep B and the likes.

....Then I GET criticism here because I WILL NOT help said scratchers by telling them how to build, operate or otherwise use tattoo equipment and supplies. YES, I tell them to get an apprenticeship - and if they CAN'T - oh well, not everyone can get into college, either. You gotta make the grade.

Ok, I digress.....children need clear direction at any rate. If tattooing was better regulated we would not have these issues.

Lol. I got my first piercing when I was 9, and by the age of 17, I already had 23 piercings lol and my first tattoo at the age of 15, no parental consent lol ... now I have 9 big pieces :) if you really want them, you'll find a way to get them, trust me.

I find it rediculous, too. When I was 14, my parents knew I wanted tats, but I made a promise that I wouldn't get one until I was 19, so I had time to think about it. Tattoos are very serious, and shouldn't be taken lightly. Even if they can be removed its twice as expensive and painful as actually getting the tat(or so I've heard). To any 14 year olds reading this: wait and give serious thought to tattoos. don't complain, your parents are doing you a favour by telling you to wait!!

Exactly!! If your parents aren't letting you get it done deal with it till your old enough to put some proper thought into what you actually want instead of running in and getting Winne the Pooh or Harry Potter tattooed on your arm.

Haha now thats something that needed to be said! I have noticed that a lot. Then they ask "Can I do it myself?" or "If I do it myself can I hide it from my parents?" No if you have a hole through your lip you're not going to be able to hide it unless your parents don't look at you! Now I love piercings and tattoos, but come on children wait a couple years and do it legally and in a shop that actually has licensed professionals.

I agree! one of the best parts of turning 18 was being able to go and get a tattoo and whatever piercings i have always wanted (i had uber strict parents).... but if you have already got one its not fun!

I agree with you in the tatoo area, but many of my friends ( i am 13) have double ear peircing and cartiladges. It is not shallow or poser. They did it because they wanted to. Also they did it at a certified piercing place, and my other friend at the doctors office.

that is true! they're so young and why do they need one? if they got a tattoo at that age they would look trashy not different
