THIS is a great question to ask. Modest dress has been the topic for so many christans. This is what I think: What a female wears or how she dresses is important to what she wants to tell males. If a female wears something that shows plenty of skin,( well usually males like to touch what they can see) then males think that its okay to touch, and some females don't want them to touch, but thats what goes through the male mind so what a girl wears matters to them. If a female thinks that being modest is wearing a Cami and super low rise jeans then she shouldn't be shocked if a guy tries to touch her bare skin. I personally wear cap sleeve shirts and wear pants that cover more than what most girls wear because I care about what guys think about, and some guys don't want to think about female bodies all the time, so I try not to distract them that way. also i don't want to temp a male to go further than I want, so by dressing to ones own standards is the way to go.
Basically how a female dresses depicts what she is looking for in a male.( I dress very modestly and I usually only get attention from well groomed higher class males, who have manners. )

It seems to me (at sixty-something!), that both Christian women and men should dress in a way that shows that they respect themselves. Yes, men have a lust problem, and no, it shouldn't be our problem, but in reality, it is. So. What do we do about it? It all depends on how you wish to be perceived by others. If you want someone's first impression of you to be how big your breasts are, then go for the cleavage. I'd rather someone meet me and think, Hmmm. Intelligent and attractive woman. Full stop. No specific body part identification. Whole person identification.

Yes, Christian women should dress modestly. This is what Paul said in 1 Timothy 2:8-10-
I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.
I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

I think she (and he, why specify women?) should dress however they feel comfortable. To demand otherwise is oppressive. Having said that, if they feel that their clothing could lead another to lust, that is up to their own convictions and relationship with God. Its no one elses concern and to make it otherwise would only stifle the man or woman.
Its a matter of personal conviction, then.
EDIT: K.S.N.: WTF! That is the most horrid thing I've heard in a while. The woman is to be blamed if the man arbitrarily touches her? Its her fault he doesn't understand personal boundaries or space? She's to blame that he can't keep his hands to himself? And civil person KNOWS not to touch unless invited. So then her clothing makes him forget his civil manners and so she can't complain when he touches her? How... medieval.
That's like blaming the rape victim after being raped that she shouldn't have been dressed so provocatively. That its her fault to blame since she was wearing too little clothing and the man couldn't help touching her.
Seriously, you need a mind set change. No person should be blamed for the actions of another. If a man is going to touch of woman because she has less clothing on, then he's a f*cked up man. Don't blame her.

Christian women should dress however they want. The standards in the Bible are archaic to say the least.
Having said that, I don't think you should look like your other job is on a pole, but within reason. The Bible also tells us women shouldn't speak up in church and should cover their heads, I'm not sure I own a hat and I speak up on a mic every Sunday. If that doesn't make me unChristian-like, then I doubt a little cleavage will.

Depends on what you want. If you're looking for a man then I guess you'll have to get noticed somehow. Generally though a man really should get to know your mind and not your body.
However, if you desire the evil eye from women and the oggling of men, at least try not to show too much leg and cleavage.

Yes, they should, and I prefer women who do leave something to the imagination. Since, for homosexuals, it is all about looks, I am pleased that Christian women realize life is more than just 2 people rubbing their thingies together.
