The daily food amount is more important than how often you feed.

There should be a feeding guide on the side of whatever pack of food you've got. Have a look at the daily amount recommended for the weight your dog is SUPPOSED to be - not necessarily the weight he is! Most people feed their dogs twice a day, which is reasonable, but you can split up the daily amount however you like.

This all depends on how old your dogs are.
Their weight, breed and what type of dog food you feed them.
With my adult dogs I feed once per day, but a good quality dog food. My pups get fed twice a day.
Just remember to feed a good quality food.
I see so many people coming out of the stores with 40 lb. bags of low quality foods.
you always end up feeding more because your dog retains less. Spend the extra money and feed less.
As the saying goes the poorer the quality the less your dog retains.
This will always be noticeable by the amount of poop your picking up off the ground.

When your dog is a puppy they should really have three meals a day but when they are older they only really need two feeds a day. An averae dog eats about two average cans of food each day but it does depend on their size. On the back of dog food cans it will say how much your dog should eat per day but for an average dog it is about 2 cans.

well if they are a puppy 3 times a day other than that only 2 times a day. i feed my dogs 2 times a day and they are just the right weight ( and by the way i feed my dogs raw food like chicken necks and chicken backs for the big dogs and they love it it keeps there teeth clean too)

What size dogs? How many? What breed? What age? You haven't given alot of information there. I feed mine once a day. I have 3. A 10lb doxie, a 7 lb chi, and a 3lb chi. I feed 2 cups a day, and they eat most of it. For a medium size dog, about a cup a day, really big, 1 1/2 to 2 cups, small to really small 1/2 a cup. Hope this helps

Well i sub jest two times daily. Depends on the size of the dog but if the dog is 15 pounds and under about a cup twice a day if larger up to 40pounds about a 1.5 twice a day if larger then that about 2 cups twice a day. Sometimes I give more if the dog seems more hungerer.

Only once a day. Dogs in the wild only eat when they can catch something and they usually hunt when they are hungry. Feeding a domestic dog too often/much will make it fat and sluggish. One good meal every day is enough for them.

And try to avoid giving them titbits..I know how cute they look but it's not good for them ESPECIALLY chocolate , which can KILL them. Doggy chocs only please!

I've worked in the Vet business for almost nine years. Most people only feed their dogs once per day. This is incorrect. Your dog should be fed 3 times per day up until it reaches its adult size. This is longer for larger dogs as they grow slower. Then they can be fed 2 times per day. Very small dogs (i.e. chihuahuas) will need to bed fed 3 times per day to prevent a dangerous condition where their blood sugar drops.
