It is amasing the different attitudes on display here. Have any of the readers stopped to read and wonder about the various replies offered? There is an education to be had .

Whether you agree or disagree with another religious system, what purpose is expected to be gained by the continual attacks. The truth of the facts are, that probably never will there be an agreement of all the various systems and attitudes concerning religion.

Granted the LDS have some very strange beliefs, however unless you happen to be a member of the religion, you will never understand the dedication LDS people hold for their way of life. Even a lot of those "break away groups" and their desires to keep up with Polygamy, are a challenge to most folks, to understand.

This is not meant to promote or defend either group in sofar as their own belief systems are formulated. On the other hand those of you whom profess to be Christians are you cultivating and growing Christian like attitudes with your own assorted condemnations?

For the most part LDS people do not, hold wild parties, or hold strange sacrifical burnings or parade "Graven Idols" around the areas they populate. Granted they hold parades, and parties just as all the rest of you for your Holidays. They even join you in your "celebration of the Day of Dead and the Great Satan" on Halloween. They also keep the traditional Christmas celibrations, which if you will recall is a "Pagan" day in reality. Certainly Christ was not born in the dead of winter, on a day the pagans had long been hallowing as the deep of winter festival and looking forward to Spring.

With out attempting to call out "names" but has any one taken a good look at the Idols and assorted graven images in stone or stained glass so many of the other denominations use in their own worship services? I would think with all the immoral reports about assorted memebers of the clergy, circulating in the media, I might wish to modualte my sour complaints about another man's religious beliefs. It takes very little poision via the mouth to contaminate another's beliefs, just as the same can be proclaimed concerning your own as well.

While LDS people are starange to the most of society, and the norms accepted there in, consider: Mormons (LDS) members discourages, premarital sex, smoking, drugs, drinking, other assorted imoralities, such as "same sex weddings", the promote a diet of reason, chasity, the words and obeyance to the Ten Commandments, the home being the foundation unit of the Ward, Stake, Region , and the soceity, city state in which they live. The leaders incourage clean living, public service, inclusive of voting, serving on jurries and service in politics if they feel so disposed.

While the Missionaries can be, something perhaps best described as "pests", you must concede they are dedicated for the most part to what they belive to be the truth.

If the case is really to be considered by outsiders perhaps it should be on the basis, they are dedicated but badly informed, concerning the ways of Christianity. Perhaps with expressing less obstance to them as a people of Christianity, they might seen as a branch of the same tree thats has grown out side of the inclosure of the truth.

How many of the other systems can lay claim to similar lines of activities.

For some I inview them as working on the basics of producing a ladder unto the Supreme being perhaps only the first rung, but they all need a helping hand to advance.

I just recently answered a question defending the rights of Mormons. I am not Mormon, but I do believe in the freedom of religion!!! I have taken a bayonet in my side while in the military to defend what I believe in!!! Sad to say, that I also believe in everyones right to voice their opinions too!!! (Stupid ones too)

Well anyway, I got more than 30 thumbs down for my answer
.

Um, not me...

I only thumbs-down people who are rude....

Sure, there's things about other religions that I don't understand, but I don't try to talk like I'm an authority, by any means. I try to be "diplomatic" in what I say about others...

Case in point- here's the last question I answered...

Besides, I'm LDS, and do you realize how odd (wrong) that would look if I did??

I don't think we'll get an answer. I always have a thumbs down fairy following me. LOL.

Honestly, I think it's Christians who think we're a cult. It doesn't bother me except when there's a question that asks us to explain something and we automatically get thumbs down because people disagree with the beliefs, but not with the answer.

Depends is the answer nice to the LDS or not? If it is bashing LDS- or any religion for that matter- I will thumbs down it.

Edit**
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or LDS for short- AKA Mormons.

I don't auto-thumb-down anything. I read replies and if they are valid and thoughtful I either thumb them up or leave em be. Thumbs down is for lack of thought or plain stupid answers.

The people who do it are the most ignorant people out there. They will never change and they are so uneducated (on everything), that they don't even know how off they are.

Jesussaves is one you forgot Colbert2008.
