This past week, I've become aware of two individuals:

One is a mom of three (you know the type, PTA mom, super sweet, volunteers for everything, helps out at church) who's been caught carrying on a long-term clandestine affair under everyone's nose; the last person you'd expect to be caught up in anything so tawdry.

The other is a widower in his 70s who was married to the same woman for 40+ years and built up a successful business with her help. He has a substantial estate and has a very loving relationship with his adult children who have always included him in everything. Now he suddenly decided to remarry without a prenuptial agreement or any kind of legal document to let his children know where they stand. He won't listen to anybody because he says he "trusts" his fiancee.

Can depression cause this type of behavior? Is it a manifestation of some other type of mental illness? This all reminds me of that lady astronaut who became unhinged recently.

Yes it can. That is not to say these two individuals are suffering from depression.

about 5 years ago, I started to fall into a really depressive episode. At first I thought it was only because I had a bad break from a relationship but the feelings wouldn't go away even after I got a new girlfriend. It was wrecking my life until a point where it was seriously affecting my work and personal life.

She was very worried but at the same time couldn't understand why I was still sad and thought that I still couldn't let go of my previous relationship. Being the wonderful person that she is, she put aside her feelings and suggested I go for psychiatric evaluation. Many months later and even more anti-depressants, I was not coming close to being better at all.

After doing some research online, I found out the real cause as you described it really makes a lot of sense and purchased this program. The results were simply astonishing. I read this book over three times and put all words in action. Using this method, I've kept my depression at bay ever since. Up to date I'm still living happily with my girlfriend.

Depression Free Method?

The PTA woman is just an example of life. Not so much depression.

The same could be said about the man in his 70's.

I will never understand why kids think they are entitled to some form of inheritance when their parents die. Its really beyond me.

depression can cause many behaviors, such as secluding one self from people to wanting to feel love the way they use to ,people tend to do this because they were happy before and feel it will make them happy again ,unfortunately most time s they end up hurting them self's as well as others before they realize what they have done ,counseling is the best way to help any one whom has depression .

I don't think either one of those scenarios is indicative of depression. Sounds more like human nature and bad judgment to me.

Of course. So can a couple beers or an insult.

indeed, depression can cause aberrant behaviors, as can extreme lonliness.
