I have been dealing with wisdom tooth issues- but after I heal up from this I am going to have to have periodontal therapy.

I have been so stressed out with the wisdom teeth and dry socket that I haven't had much time to think about the gum disease issue.

Now I am starting to get worried. They told me they could see I was already experiencing some bone loss.

I am only 27, my teeth LOOK to be in ok shape. I am just worried about losing my teeth now.

Can you tell me about your experience with this and/or what I can expect?

Dr. Albert is correct. Periodontal scaling and root planing will help control periodontal disease. The most important things you can do: 1. DO NOT SMOKE! #1 cause of periodontal disease and tooth loss 2. Keep up with your oral hygiene. Brush, floss, use Listerine 3. Keep up with all checkups and cleanings. If you do these things, as long as your health is good, at 27, you should be ok!
