If you're wanting to know what x is:
2(x-1)+3(x+3)=37
=2x - 2 + 3x + 9 = 37
=5x + 7 = 37
=37 - 7 = 30
=30 / 5 = 6
=x = 6

no it's not impossible.
2(x-1)+3(x+3)=37 is the same thing as 2x-2+3x+9=37, which can be simplified to 5x+7=37
then, subtract the 7 from both sides so that you have 5x=30 and then its pretty obvious if you divide by 5 on both sides that x=6

Yes. First Distripute the 2 and the 3 to the parenthasis they're next to, making it 2x-2+3x+9=37.
Then simplify it by combining like terms, making it 5x+7=37.
Subtract the seven and what you do to one side do to the other side of the equal sign. Then it would be 5x=30.
Again, to take out the 5, do unto one as you do to the other. So divide the five to thirty making it x=6.
I hope I didn't just do your homework for you, but if I did, I hope it helps! :D

expand and simplify
2(x-1)+3(x+3)=37
= 2x - 2 + 3x + 9 = 37
= 5x + 7 = 37
take 7 both sides
5x = 30
x = 6

2x-2+3x+9=37 (I did the multiplication)
5x+7= 37 (I combined the like terms)
5x=30 (I subtracted 7 from both sides)
x= 30/5 (I divided both sides by 5
x =6 (I simplified the fraction)
