My mom and I our trying to redocorate our living room.She likes lighthouses and japanese like art..?

Do these 2 themes conflict too much?

How about some water or ocean themes in japanese art, and some lighthouses? [ landscapes, fish or birds, etc. ]
Try to match the main colors a bit, and use those you like best
[ two or three ] throughout the room, for walls, carpet, furniture, drapes, and accessories.

Yes, either/or. Personally I've had lighthouses in my living room for years. I'd rather see something different.

Yeah they do! But the japanese art is great!!
