haysoos2, I put it there to determine the level of factual knowledge that people have amassed.

steve guttenberg was a joke- not the question, but the man, his career and his performances.

Not a theist, but...

Bigfoot (A man ape isn't really a stretch, probably at one point long ago)
Atlantis (why not? they have found similiar lost cities)
The Lochness Monster (something like it. They find new species every day)
Alien Abduction (not as likely)

Excalibur (a sword named as such, but not the legend)

I thought the lost ark was just a big generator?

Hogwarts No. Wiccans running around playing witch, sure.

Rasputin as a tough mother effer, but not magical

It would have to be on a case by case basis, looking at the various evidence that is available to us.

eg. Bigfoot - yes there was a guy in a sasquatch suit who walked like a man, so that footage is now regarded as being faked - that does not exclude all the various other sightings made over a long period of time, including in China and the himalayas.
Atlantis has much going for it, as there is the Yonaguni site, and more recently something discovered off Cuba in deep water - plus other sites still underwater, like in India.

Where there is the hard evidence available - the more likely it is genuine. Some just rely upon a reputation, like Rasputin, who I haven't checked out... St Germaine was a fake and hoax.

Dang. I'm an atheist, so I guess I can't answer.

I do wonder why you put America's discovery around 1000 BCE in the same category with the others though. There's considerable physical evidence to indicate that America was well known by that date, and even earlier. It's not completely fictional, like the idea that Steve Guttenberg is popular.

bigfoot-yeah he was on a mythbusters commerical.'nough said

atlantis-plato wrote about it, and plato came up with the whole "tektonic plate" thing, if we threw atlantis out, we'd have to through that out too!

loch ness monster-the monster is actually the town of loch ness, the monster in the pictures was trying to escape

never-never land-yeah, isn't it in Michael Jackson's backyard amusment part(i wish it didn't exist)

excalibur-yeah, arthur had it and merlin gave it to him with the stone, or was it the lady of the lake???(it's both, there are 2 stories)

don't know about the ark

hogwarts- yeah there were these books written about it, and these documentaries

america-was discovered at the beginning of time so 1000bc isn't far enough back

I believe that Rasputin had powers greater than that of the average person.

The rest I'm not quite so sure about.

Oh, come on, they don't believe in dinosaurs. And you want to confuse them with bigfoot. That's hardly fair.
