In our glorified bodies, which will be perfect, will there be cells? If yes, how do you expain a non-rational creature having an afterlife. If no, did cells just spontaneously appear after the fall of Adam and Eve (who had glorified bodies to begin with).

No, Jocko_Homo, by non-rational creatures I meant the cells themselves. Will they be in the afterlife?

Giggly Giraffe, I hope you meant cell in an analagous sense, because God is spirit and unchanging.

Brain, Priests do not make up the Churches dotrine. Give evidence, adn perhaps I would listen -- but I have yet to see a faithful priest make up doctrine.

Glenn m, I asked for a Catholic view, not some new-age beliefs.

mystic_turtyl, your view of eternity is quite a bit deviant from a Catholic view, so your answer doesn't hold much wieght for me; but thank you, I see that you really know what you're talking about.

Thank you, Genntri. Again, not quite in line with my beliefs, but very profound. It makes me think a liitle bit deeper.

This question is just too big for our present conditions and the normal religious views
Cells change according to the individuals emotional and thinking inner responses of chemical and electrical activity all the time.
When the master now known as Jesus was 'transfigured' on the mount there were two already that were also transfigured: Moses and Elijah, their cells had changed into something not common for most current humanity.
We have 97% of our DNA not being used and dismissed by science as Junk DNA with a lot of Excuses of what it's probable reason for existence might be. But suppose our existing cells are supposed to change mutate evolve into something more "Glorious" while we are still living in our bodies and keeping them alive? Suppose life itself as we know it could be the door to something more majestic rather than just a race for the grave.
There is a lot more to your question that science is now exploring. Most of what is being revealed is not shared in churches. Actually much is also not shared in common public media. However with proper research one could find a lot of interesting alternative understanding of the Catholic view of the Resurrection of the body and life everlasting
in the Catholic Mass are the words "we have lifted up our hearts" I believe if hearts really were lifted up, the body would follow

If I believed as you that only some will be glorified that yes you would have cells. But you would have more light in your cells, and your dna would be altered (cleansed) from the inheritance of sin so that you sin no more. (The "human nature" so many speak of. It isn't that the freedom to break from God would no longer exist, but that the drive to do one's own will devoid of the divine will would no longer rule. And after seeing the destruction of the earth and how this sickness has ruined us from the perfection Adam had, Who'd want to go back? Once perfected, and living in divine joy would you want to go back to violent video games, gambling, drugs, alcohol, METH! physical, mental, sexual, emotional abuse? And so much more? Not to mention never dying of cystic fibrosis, aids, etc. God doesn't hate this world, if he did why make it? He created it for us that we might experience it for him. His power, and light so great, in a weak world where man is sick...how could he ever leave and come here without destroying us merely by his presence. (and not by any anger).

you are allready perfect.. you are a soul with a physical body. not a body with a soul. that makes you eternal. you as a soul evolve. you were and always will be. you had two other souls make you a body so you could come here and do your work then you go home. home is where god is. we live in two worlds at one time. be carefull not to insult god by thinking man made religions with their pathetic concepts govern the universe.

So you're saying that if glorified bodies have cells, then all bodies with cells must be glorified? That doesn't make sense. It's like saying that one million dollar home has a roof, so all buildings with roofs must be worth one million dollars.

We Catholics make up the body of Christ when we eat the Eucharist and are united with our past, present, and future Catholics. It is all too possible that planet earth is just a cell in Jesus.

You really should ask a priest, since they are the ones that make up Catholic doctrine. If you find out the truth (which will probably vary from what they tell you) they will freak out.
