If you go to the cdc website, it tells you the side effects of vaccines. For the flu vaccine, vomiting is not listed as a side effect anywhere. Flu vaccine should be given, especially if your child has any kind of chronic conditions (asthma, heart disease, etc.). If you have any questions though, you should really talk to your Pediatrician.

Well first you need to find out if it was the Flu shot or not. Then get the advise of a doctor.

Clearly based on her experiance with the last flue shot this is something you really need to discuss with your daughters doctor instead of taking a poll on Yahoo Answers...I am not being harsh but not one person here can give you a better answer then your doctor! Explain to he/she what happened last time...I have never given my daughter the flue shot..but she is healthy! Is there a reason your daughter needs a flue shot...is there a medical condition otherwise that far outweighs the decision not to?

I wouldn't. Kids get sick - a lot. They're supposed to! That's how they build the healthy immune system that they're going to need in adulthood. Immunizations for polio and smallpox are not something I would ever recommend against, but the flu seems a little unecessary. Your daughter had a terrible reaction, and she might again, but she might not. If she gets the shot and doesn't react, there's nothing to say that she won't get the flu anyway, in a slightly different form.
It's your daughter, and your decision, of course, but I think the flu shot isn't always necessary. This is of course, unless your pedriaticican has specifically recommended it for your daughter due to a specific condition that she had.

I think they have alternative medications they can give you.
When I get the shot my arm gets swollen.
Your doctor should ask you if she has had
any bad side affects from the shot.
If not ask for an alternative.
You should always get the flu shot,
It's better then being ill.

if she was vomiting so much, but had no other symptoms, like fever or body aches etc. She probably got her self worked up good about the shot, kids can do that, convince themselves that the shot is so horrible that they make themselves sick. One night of vomiting compared to two to three weeks of vomiting and illness from the flu, guess it's a hard call, but that is the call you have to make.

First-timers can have stronger reactions and children under 9 should have first time vaccinations in two parts. She may not respond again this way. Check with her pediatrician and get the doctor's recommendation, not ours.

We have never given our children flu shots, there is so many different types of flu that its not going to make your kids not get it. Try vitamin C in large doses to prevent colds.

If you tell your doctor what happened to her last time, he should advise you on what to do.
