At 12 I went to bed by 9. Once I got into high school, my parents let me somewhat choose my bedtime because I was responsible enough to know what time I needed to go to bed to not be tired in the morning. I usually go to bed between 8-10 depending on what I have to do the next day. I would say between 8:45 and 9:30 would be good for a 12 year old. 11 is way too late.

Well I am almost fifteen and my bedtime is 10:00 I think when I was twelve it was 9:00 which sounds pretty fair. But when you are in school you need all the sleep possible so you can keep up good grades. I am now a freshman and I wish that I was able to be in bed by 9:00. With all the homework and sports I don't normally get to bed until 11:00. If I were you I would enjoy the sleep while you can because I think that every year you progress in school the less and less sleep you get. But I guess when I was twelve I wanted to stay up as late as possible. So good luck on convincing your parents to let you stay up later!

You have a bedtime later than me and I'm two years older! My bedtime is 9:30. It used to be 8:30 but as I got older I started to watch more shows that didn't finish till 9:30.

When I was 12, I was given an alarm clock and told that so long as I got up when the alarm went off to go to school, I could decide for myself when to go to bed...it was my own fault if I didn't get enough sleep. At some point, you have to make your kids learn to be responsible for taking care of their own bodies.

I'm absolutely SHOCKED to see all these teenagers who still have a bedtime! Good Lord, give your kids some independence and responsibility!

Well I have a 12 year old son. And his thing is he has to be in bed by 9pm and then he gets 30 mins of TV after that lights out and tv is off. And on weekends its 11pm.

Well this depends on what time you have to get up at.
My son, even though he is only 5, has to get up at 7:45 for school (he is in kindergarten).
I imagine your school starts at the same time, so if you have to be up at 7:45 I would say bed by 9:30pm.
Hope your not staying up too late :)

God Bless.

I would say 9-10:30 is pretty reasonable.
