Yes, you should buy the Playstation 3. First of all, it will not be a year when good games for the PS3 will be coming out. There are already a bunch of good exclusive PS3 games out now, and in November there will be 2 or 3 PS3 exclusive games coming out and in December there will be more PS3 exclusive games coming out.

In a year from now, yes I do believe that the PS3's graphics will be far superior to the Xbox 360's. It will take a while for developers to utilize the PS3's full potential. The Xbox 360's potential has most likely already been seen.

Also, to be honest, I think that in about 4 or 5 years from now, Microsoft will re-release another new Xbox 360 with a built in HD-DVD drive that uses HD-DVD's for Microsofts games. I think that this will happen because in a year from now Microsofts games wont be able to compete with PS3 exclusive games because the PS3's games are already bigger and more technologically advanced than the Xbox 360 games because of the Blu-Ray DVD's.

If Microsoft releases another Xbox then it probably will be equal or almost in power to the PS3. The PS3 will be around for at least 6 or 7 more years.

Since the 360 is already outdated with dx9 graphics, It will release another console in the next two years but since the ps3 is two to three years ahead of it's time the 360 would still have huge competition from the existing ps3...

For the 360 to compete it would have to come with a 50 gig blueray capable drive. It would have to have a Graphics card that exceeds the Nvidia RSX with full motion 3d and 4d realism. It would have to have a built in hardrive that you could inexpensively swap out with a larger of your choosing and your brand internal harddrive. The 360 would have to come packaged with internal wifi. and multiple multimedia options ...THe list goes on and on.... Right now the Elite comes with hdmi 1.2 (ps3 hdmi1.3) THe 360 elite comes with a harddrive but you can only upgrade with microsoft products...THe 360 elite comes with a headset. and nothing more and it cost almost $400. THe 360 elite does not have hddvd capability, nor wifi, nor rechargeable controllers and it still cost you about the same as the ps3 right now and the ps3 offers all of the above right in the original purchase price.

So for the 360 to compete and be redesigned and released in 2 years It still couldn't match the ps3 unless Microsoft charges the consumer over $1000 for the system to use future technology...History tells us that microsoft is lazy and just does the minimum so they will use todays standard in tommorrows system to save money.

Next consider microsofts track record with engineering an hd system. They still don't know what causes the red ring of death.

Yes it is a "right buy" and if your wondering about the whole 4-5 yrs thing then don't just look how well the Ps2 is still doing, sill coming out with brand new games like the manhunt2 coming out on halloween. In more then one expect its worth every penny you spend on it blue ray, free online, Superior hardware and a very long list of games coming out later this yr and early nxt,. And for the graphics just watch this

ps3 is the better buy. it uses blu-ray which can store up to 50gb of data. this means longer games and more space for HD graphics. xbox 360 uses dvd which holds only 9gb. so the games for xbox are SHORTER and NO space for stunning HD graphics. this is the reason why ps3 will get more exclusives

Unless you want to playMetal Gear 4 really bad then a 360 is a great way to go instead. Most third party publishers that were making games for both are going with the Xbox only because its much harder to develope games for the PS3. Its a very high tech system and is very time consuming to develope for. Sony doesn't have all the exclusives it used to so everything under the hood goes to waste because theres is nothing to put in the tank so to speak.

Well I had a ps3 for a good 2 or 3 months, dont get me wrong its fine but my xbox 360 I play everyday, I personally believe xbox 360 has somewhat better graphix than ps3, but its more how the game is made graphically rather than the system, but thats just an opinion,
