I used to be on Celexa and that worked great but my new insurance company will only pay for the generic brand and the side effects on that one were awful. With Celexa there were side effects too but they faded away and some completely went away. What have you tried that the side effects weren't bothersome and faded away after sometime?

So yeah, I'm not an idiot but I do know that the generic brands do have different side effects for whatever reason. And I did try Lexapro which is the one who's side effects were just awful. Everyone else thank you. Especially if you weren't being condescending.

Also, here's a list of the ones I have tried and not really worked for me. Zoloft, citalopram, wellbutrin, risperdal. I can't remember anymore.

TRY SOME ST. JOHN'S WORT AVAILABLE OTC FROM THE PHARMACY, SIDE EFFECTS ARE MUCH LESS THAN PHARMACEUTICALS.

Lexapro which is the 'updated' form of Celexa. It worked really well for me with few side effects at first and none after a few weeks. My insurance company won't cover Lexapro anymore so I switched to Effexor which is working great for me but has given me nervous energy and complete loss of sex drive. Good luck.

Prozac wasn't really good for me. Lexapro was. Prozac caused restlessness, but I found that lowering the dose helped. Sometimes the best thing to do is to take something to help with the side effects. The difference in the generics must be the filler. Check with a pharmacist about the ingredients.

Generic brands are no different that those with a highly known name.It is your mind that is telling you they are different why not compare the boxes and see for your self. Also if you want to try some thing different talk to you doctor and perhaps start on a lower dose then with doctors advice up the dose until it suits your mediacl condition.I am NOT making fun of you. However if you still have remnants of the medication in your system trying something like st johns remedy could be very harmful as they can react against each other.

Different meds work better for different people, but Zoloft worked the best for me, and the side effects were minimal and/or went away.

I tried 5-HTP and it actually made things worse.
