Hello,
Interestingly, recorded in the Bible is a case of an Ethopian eunuch who was reading scripture but he didn't fully understand what he was reading until it was explained to him.

He obviously must have been confused but had an interest in spiritual matters because he was reading the text of Isaiah. He humbly acknowledged the need for guidance & accepted help in understanding what he was reading.

When you take into consideration the words at John 17:3 which tell us that in order to gain everlasting life we must take in knowledge of God & Jesus, then surely a close examination of His word to us is worth it wouldn't you say?

I'd be happy to help you to understand anything in the Bible that you find confusing - just email me

Every holly book in the world will have points of confusing as Toa is not easily to discripe nore to explain. In our world; everything is a coin of 2 faces, you have the good at the same time you have bad.
Even a hollyman who did a good thing to people at that moment and now will became a bad thing. Such as China, The blue grass made the Tai Lake pollution at the same time the blue grass is very good fertilizer for the ground planting. What is the good and what is the bad are depanding on the standpoints. These are the karmas besides karmas what else will be?

I used too before i had an experience with God. I used to try to read it and find myself feeling so frustrated with it all - just didn't make any sense. Then a friend asked me along to a meeting, and the love and acceptance i felt from ppl i didn't even know kinda overwhelmed me. Some ppl prayed with me that night and i had a supernatural experience that went all the way through my body - i met with these ppl a few times and each time i had another experience. I bought an NIV bible and started to read - suddenly a lot of it started to make sense and the night i asked Jesus into my heart (life) i went home - opened it and WOW - i started to highlight it in red pen - that was 15yrs ago - still got it and can still remember how exciting it was - and do you know what? it just gets better. : )

Atheist don't find the bible confusing, it is the congregation that finds it so, for they do not learn the text, only the false Interpretations, thus they are indoctrinated by the church meaning of the bible and not the teaching of Jesus. The bible was written by men for the subjugation of the masses.

It can be, but I read the Good News version, as well as an International version, and I have a concordance too. So every night I have a pencil and post its and I'd read a bit, and anything I don't understand I underline and look up in the concordance or in other versions. It also helps if you have someone you can talk to about it and ask questions and that.

It's confusing if you (wrongly) assume that it is the single inerrant Word Of God.

It's much less confusing if you accept it as a compilation of stories and myths, put together over hundreds of years, which has gone on to have a huge impact on western civilization.

Not at all.
But it took extensive study of history, theology, epistemology and hermeneutics to arrive at that position.

An alternate route is to pick (or unconsciously adopt, or acquire) one particular way of understanding it and smooth all bible verses and passages to match that understanding.

This usually requires holding the firm belief that all alternate understandings and possibilities are wrong.

this book has more contradictions, lies and absurd stories than any other book ever printed. It has been edited/interpreted so many times by various "religious" leaders/Scholars that its original meanings have been obscured
Its written in such a way as to be "interpreted" to mean whatever anyone(usually religious groups) wants it to mean..
That is why we have so many religious sects....they cannot agree amongst themselves on the actual meaning.
So I don't think we mere people have a hope in hell....
