Ah...good one my friend. However, C.L. Richardson seems to have it mixed up. It was the CHRISTIANS who switched it around, and made their beliefs more Egyptian-like, the easier to gain followers. Hope this helps! ^_^

The Osiris-Horus story seems to be more based on basic family structure(father, son, wife), than on the concept of the Trinity. For example, the father and son(Horus) don't actually co-exist simultaneously, but one is the product of the other's corpse. The so-called resurrection of Osiris as Horus also appears to be more by physical means than spiritual, with Osiris's seed entering Isis to create Horus, a sort of post-resurrection pregnancy. And all of this, for what purpose?

For the MILLIONTH time:
1. Horus was not born of a virgin.
2. Nowhere in the myth does it state that Horus was crucified.
3. In the earliest Horus myths, he didn't even die.
4. In the later myths, Horus DID die; however, if he was resurrected at all, it was either daily, or occured annually around the time of the spring equinox.
I think perhaps you ought to read some books written by Egyptologists.

Sorry, but you got your facts wrong. Horus was born of Isis, and Osiris. His father Osiris was the one who was in a way resurrected, when his uncle Set killed his father. Horus never died on a cross in any of his legends, don't know where you got that from, but yes he was a sun god. Here's a star for effort, try comparing someones story which was similar to the Jesus myth, like Mithra.

All those poor pagans, making up stories of the oldest prophecies given to Adam and his posterity. The stars are the witness of the glory of God.
All the pagan stories are rip offs of the Mazzoroth.... you didn't go back far enough, AND you have mixed up facts also.
Go to PBS about religion? Are you kidding me? That's like going to Proctor/Morris and asking them if cigarettes are bad for you!

it actually doesn't draw good comparisons
Horus wasn't born of a virgin, Isis inceminated herself with Osiris
no trinity
he was drowned in a box, not crucified.
Horus was referred to as sky-god too. Ra was sun God.
it's irrelevent because Jesus wasn't centered in astrology nor referred to as "sun god"(son/sun only works in english, ex hijo/sol there is no comparison)

There really aren't any good comparisons ..Go to a reputable history site. any museum site, PBS, BBC..You can't believe everything you read on the Internet. Horus is well documented there is a lot of information on him. Don't go to the hokey sites.

The Jewish 'bible' and the Christian 'bible' borrow a lot from other religions.
Many, many religious scholars of Church affiliation have studied very hard to explain 'thefts' like this in a way favorable to the Church.
I f, everything was figured out by religious scholars some 1500 years ago we would not need to re-invent the Bible as the years pass by.

Also, scholars note that the incorporation of the various aspects of christianity was drawn from the earlier egyptian story--and not vica versa.

Couldn't care less.
You do know that all of these "gotchas" you atheists spew were dealt with over 1500 years ago by the Church fathers?
Read up on church history and you will find that they knew far more about these subjects than you ever will.
Have a nice day.
