Where does it state in the bible that Jesus was a child molester? Or that Jesus was gay with his 12 disciples? Back it up smart elects

No! I am not going to sit back and say nothing.... Jesus turned tables over in temple for the dishonor that was going on....
I don't count it as persecuation to my self... I count it as blasphemy and I will stand back and put up with it!

Jesus represents holiness and the only way to achieve Heaven. To accept Jesus as Lord and Savior means that one must repent (turn away) from the sin that they've become comfortable with. This is something that the haters just can't handle.
Their problem is not with us, it is with God. They want a god who will love them and let them live in their sin, without expecting anything from them.
God does love them. However, since He is first a righteous and holy God, He cannot abide for sin to be in His presence, ergo, He cannot just accept anyone into His presence.
He provided a way for all of us to be able to commune with Him. However, to do that, we cannot just keep going on our merry way, a way which leads to Hell.
When someone comes under conviction about their sin, they do one of 2 things: They either face their sin and take steps to rectify it or, wrap themselves in their sin and lash out at their one Hope.

Being new to the board (close to level 2 yes!) the one thing that I have noticed most in R&L is the need for Christians to bash atheist and atheist to bash Christians. I find it upsetting (and yes I get angry) when the obscene remarks are made about the God I serve. I am not telling everyone else they have to believe but please respect the fact that others do, so go a little easy on the remarks. With you 100% on this.
The other thing that has upset me almost just as much (which may give some insight to the offensive remarks made) is the holier than thou Christians who seem to get a kick out of telling other people they are going to hell. 1 Corinthians 4:5, Paul writes: "Judge nothing before the appointed time and yet they continue to do just that. For the non-believer, all Christians are not like that. Most of us will testify of God and his goodness, pray for you (wether you like it or not lol) and leave the rest up to God. I would rather testify that God so loved (John 3:16) and leave judgement up to God at the appointed time.
Thanks for the question Kimbo. (*_*)

Anger, resentment, and the ability to hide behind a computer screen. Since Yahoo! Answers goes by pseudonyms, they feel they can be as childish and offensive as they want. It gives them some kind of power trip. I bet if you met these people in person they wouldn't be as boldfaced. These people probably have very sad lives, boring jobs and terrible relationships, which they are "paying out" in their imagination by slagging off on something they don't understand. Dangerous, yes...but they'll find that out eventually. The Lion of Judah is not a *tame* lion.

Do you think the lord cares? Can anyone be and offense? Jesus knows them and he knows us. He is not offended! Why should we. This is not a surprise to God! God knew in the beginning. So what is it about respect? Do not take it personally.Jesus got this...Christianity is not about you or me. It is about Jesus Christ and what he has done and what he will do. For the kingdom sake. We are kingdom citizens! We should act like it,we are the kings servants. We should not be scrutinized by public opinion. We are lead by God's spirit and it is God that teaches us with his spirit how to act and react to men and women. Ask God what is up and what should I do? God is love. And so are we.

I'm sorry but i find religion a very frustrating subject to talk about. I'm an atheist because every single war that has ever taken place has one way or another been caused by religion. It angers me when you see pictures of dead soldiers all around the world dieing because of peoples beliefs which have no evidence to back it up apart from stories passed down from generation to generation. If religion brought peace and happiness to the world i would welcome it with open arms but i do believe that if there was no religions in the world that we would have a much safer place to bring our children into.

even Jesus said that people would hate us, but really is hatred of Him. People will continually make obscene remarks about Jesus until He comes again. We need to keep proclaiming Jesus and know that somewhere in the midst of the insults, to HIM- there actually can be a convert- God loves even those who mock Him- and one day justice will abound. Grace does now for those who trust Him. remember, even though they are not saved, Jesus died for the ones that insult Him- their choice if they accept that free gift or not. Hang in there

I'm a born again Christian. The Bible says Christians will suffer persecution. I believe the lack of respect is just all part of the plan. Just stand you ground and hold to your faith.

There's a lot of reasons I think. One is inmaturity. some are lack of knowledge, show off for friends, scared of God, true unbelievers, having fun on line( not realizing or not caring-that they are insullting others) searching and not knowing for sure for what, and some just think they are being "cute". I guess they don't see that they're preceived as ignorant.childish, and real idiotic people Too bad because I bet most are really nice people.

I should imagine its to wind up people suffering from the delusion that god exists and that jesus was his son. As for respect, I feel that those with strongly held religious beliefs deserve no respect because of the damage they inflict on society with their homophobic mysoginistic and mind numbingly idiotic superstitions.
