ignore them, they are here because they want to learn more about God. Just share the word, it's nothing new. Opposition has always existed against Christians.

confront them.....

How you treat others is how you should be treated.
...
Hate is a dirrectional force that blinds you to understanding many parrelells of the idea that you hate. This is because hate blames,.. and love builds understanding. You can understand someone with science,.. but you can't know them unless you love them. Just like life experiance goes so much further then text books.
..................

how can someone already caloused to love tell the rest of the world how to love. That's just like those psychologists who say it takes a certain level of maturity to sleep around. They already were burnt by ignorant love,.. so they choose the next best thing. Why don't they teach how to work out problems,.. no they teach running away from problems and filling the hole with temporary patches.

Let them rant then present the good news of salvation. Explain without belittling or making note of their offensive behavior as this will only fuel their rant and turn off any chance that they may actually listen to the message. Then simply explain they have 2 choices and each choice has an eternal consequence. Choice #1 Choose God and His gift of salvation through belief in His Son Jesus and repent of sin. The consequence of choice #1 is eternity of joy in the presence of our loving God, no tears, no sorrows, only light and love. Choice #2 Reject God. The consequence of choice #2 is eternity in total darkness, alone, in agony, with no hope, no escape, no second chance, and without God. Then advise them to make their choice wisely as it is for eternity.

There are people of all faiths that reply with vulgar and offensive answers.

The best thing any of us can do is not stoop to their levels, and not give into the generalizations and stereotypes.

This makes me sick!!!

Ever came to think about it that you "Christians" might be the very cause of these people turning away from God, not believing all the slush puppy theories you promote about Him. I'm a Christian... It's time we start getting REAL and stop judging others! The atheists might in actual fact be a lot closer to God than we will ever be in this sorrowful little lives of our's. The truth hurts! Deal with it!!

What is it with you and atheists? You seem to get a kick out of insulting us. Generalizations are never a good thing. The world isn't so black and white, you know. If you're going to take a stance at hating us, then why ask questions directed towards us in the first place?

The stupid, immature ones? Just ignore/block them. The ball can roll in many different directions, my friend. I've seen some pretty hateful, nasty answers from evangelical Christians as well. You have to look at the individual, not the whole group.

It's inevitable that every religon or lack thereof will have its bad apples to deal with. Get over it.

EDIT: ahh...here we go:

"YOU ARE RIGHT AND I AM TIRED OF THEM HAVING THE NERVE TO TELL ME THAT MY GOD DOESN'T EXIST. THEY DON'T KNOW ANYMORE THAN I DO THAT THERE IS A HIGHER POWER, AND IF THEY DON'T LIKE WHAT WE BELIEVE OR CELEBRATE, THEN THEY NEED TO SHUT THE F*^K UP AND TAKE THE BACK SEAT!"

That was a Christian answer to a recent question. She was referring to atheists (obviously).

There are several things that I do...
1) shake my head in disbelief
2) laugh
3) give a thumbs down (but only if they are inaccurate, insulting, or offensive)
4) yawn (because I have read the same thing 1000x)
5) say what Jesus said, "Forgive them Father, they know not what they do."
6) ignore it
Those are my usual responses.

Wish I knew. I can't believe the number of atheists that answer. I had no idea there were so many. Worries me that they may not find the truth till it's too late. I'll pray for them but I will not try to cram anything down their throat. Surely our Lord will touch their heart at the right time.

I find it best to just ignore them.
It does no good to report them...those who come here to be offensive and vulgar make sure that they are using a throw-away account, anyhow. They'll just come back with another ID and think they are sooooooo clever for "beating the system."
Yahoo does what it can, but it is very difficult to keep trolls of of the internet, or out of forums like this one.
It's a shame, because of the children who get online without adult supervision...but there it is.
I do, on occasion, give thumbs down, mostly because I don't need that trash messing up my computer screen...
