Of course...the same as supermarkets raise prices to compensate for theft...or any other type of business for that matter.

Yes, they do. As a matter of fact, I had it happen to me after I was discharged from the hospital.
Be sure, when you get your bill from the hospital (insist on an itemized copy), go over EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb. You will be AMAZED at what is stuck on your bill that you never received. Most people just go about their business and pay it thinking that there is no way a gross error could be made. Well, I am here to tell you that it happens. EVERYDAY...EVERYWHERE...ALL THE TIME!
BTW...it didn't just happen once when I was in the hospital...it happened every time. Fortunately for me, I had a husband that took the time and an interest in our money situation to request the itemized bill.

So they say. My son bumped his head and he was given one Tylenol tablet for pain and they charged us $15 dollars. The total bill (including bandages) was over $800. No x-rays, no cat scan only a 45 second examination by the ER doctor. The rest was done by a nurse.

Absolutely not. The hospital has it's own financial budget for these things. And they also have insurance for it to. I'm a medical billing and coding student in college.

Yes.
That's why we already have socialized medical funding - but nobody talks about it.
