How much does a Colonel with 25 years in the army and 4 kids make?

I'm curious...my girl's dad is a colonel and I heard they get more money the more years you are in and more if you have kids a house and other stuff.
I was wondering how much her dad makes....is he in 60,000 a year?

Base pay for an O6 over 24 but under 26 years in is $8613/month. BAH will be dependent on the duty station location,it doesn't matter if he has 4 kids or ten kids, the amount is the same. There are other allowances he may get, but those vary from person to person. He is making six figures on base pay alone.

BTW, I have no children, my husband is an O3e and our monthly housing costs are $2000 a month too.

Regardless of what you hear, you do not get more pay for having more kids. What they refer to it as is "with dependents" or "without dependents", and all it really affects is the housing allowance. It is true that every 2 years there is a raise built in, but it is usually not that much. Pay charts are public record and can be found on the internet.
