There are some home-based jobs that involve customer service. Many companies are now outsourcing their customer service agents and/or allowing people to work at home. I would recommend contacting the state department of voctional rehabilitation in your friend's state. They would be a logical choice to assist and help with placement.

Any job someone with fibromyalgia takes should take into consideration their fatigue level & pain level. Different ppl have different degrees of challenge with fibromyalgia. Some can handle more stressful jobs than others. Most cannot handle stress, a full-time job, or a full day without rest periods. Some of the best jobs for fibromites are those that are work-at-home jobs where they can set their own pace & rest when they need to. And, there are REAL work-at-home jobs. Some require training or previous experience in a field. The most important thing is that the person receive enough personal fulfillment out of the job to outweigh the cost in terms of additional pain & fatigue. Living with fibromyalgia is hard enough without having the additional stress of going to a job every day that drains you more. That's just a shortcut from challenged to truly disabled.
