When bodybuilders are "cutting up" for a competition they have porridge for breakfast. High carbs make you feel fuller for longer and give slow release energy. Keep away from sugary types of cereal as you get a sugar rush and will be looking for something else in an hour's time

Egg white omlette with veggies and/or turkey. Protein helps you feel full longer. Keep carbs to a minimum and try to get them in as early in the day as possible.

Although many are suggesting fruits & fruit juices, you can run into extra calories with sugar content. A good rule of thumb is skip the juice, have a piece of fruit and drink water or plain tea instead.

I agree with the previous answers, but for pure hunger killing I recommend either bananas or tomatoes as things you can indulge in without worrying about the fat content.

For a healthy low fat breakfast grill some lean back bacon and have it with grilled tomatoes on wholemeal toast - don't butter the toast. Have a glass of orange juice with it and afterwards have a yoghurt or piece of fruit.

Hi Cherry,
Breakfast is one time when you can eat more or less whatever you like. Only make sure you eat within one hour of waking (you wont be able to over-eat that soon after waking) and don't use the frying pan too often.

PS, Billie's answer is correct too, missing breakfast can actually lead to weight-gain.

Egg white omlette with veggies and canadian bacon. The reason you are gaining is probably that you are too low in calories. The body will not burn fat if it thinks it is starving.

Cheerios. They are low in fat and also help with cholesterol. The carb will fill you up. Get the ones with yogurt, they're yummy.

The following are quick and easy low-fat breakfast ideas that offer a combination of protein and carbohydrates. By adding a protein source to your morning meal you can prolong the feeling of satiety (or fullness). Plus you are rounding out your breakfast into a well balanced meal.

Fill a honeydew melon half with nonfat yogurt and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Fill a papaya half with cottage cheese and serve with a bran muffin.

Fill a flour tortilla with cottage cheese and fresh fruit, and warm in the microwave.

Top an English muffin with one ounce of nonfat cheese and broil until bubbly. Serve with a glass of orange juice.

Fill a crepe with low-fat ricotta cheese and fruit.

Fill a tortilla with shredded carrots, zucchini, low-fat cheese and salsa.

Have a cup of vegetable soup with cheese and bread.

Mix fresh fruit into vanilla yogurt.

Blend fresh fruit and low-fat milk to make a smoothie.

Mix dried apricots with low-fat granola and milk.

Warm a low-fat bran muffin and serve with applesauce and yogurt.

The night before, mix oatmeal, raisins or chopped prunes and
hot water. Cover and let stand overnight. Serve with warm milk and

fruit. Makes a delicious molded "breakfast pudding."

Spread peanut butter on toast and add a sliced banana. Serve with orange juice.

Spread fat-free cream cheese on a whole-wheat bagel. Serve with orange juice and a bowl of sliced strawberries.

Have a slice of cheese with a McDonald's Apple Bran Muffin or Dunkin' Donuts bran muffin. Serve with orange juice.

Have a slice of vegetarian pizza. Serve with 100 percent fruit juice.
