i mean i'm at least here (despite being asked repeatedly why i'm here) asking questions... sadly, the answers i get are pretty much the same rhetoric that i was used to spouting off when presented with the same types of question back when i was a believer. the few answers that i do get which pertain to science supporting existence of a god, when i cross check in the actual science section, i find that people are all to often taking things way out of context or completely leaving out large amounts which dispute such an idea. so, can you really say i haven't been open-minded?

edwin, your email do nothing more than assuming you know what the unknown is. i'm not going to discuss that any longer as it is a waste of my time.

studiousone, what would be the point in me even bothering cross checking answers if i already had my mind made up?

I would say you've been pretty open-minded. You just have to remember when it comes to Mainstream religions that even if you do look into it, when you still disagree, they always fall back on "You don't have Spiritual Understanding" or "the Holy Spirit has to show you". When it turns into an actual argument, it's circular and no matter how open-minded you really are, it is not enough to satisfy them because you don't believe like they do.

If someone has been answering your questions and you keep rejecting their answer they will perceive your mind is closed, at least it is closed to their answer. So, are you open minded only when you want to be? Or do you really consider well all the other people's answers? This is the only way to determine if your mind is closed or open. Are you asking questions you already believe you know the answer to? If so, then yes, one can really say you are closed minded.

It would be nice if YA was more forum based so the we didn't have the same question asked multiple times daily. I think people get the notion others aren't open minded because they ask a question that has been posted literally hundreds of times and people don't want to hear it again.

I am a Christian, and I for one am glad you are here. I am still thankful that you posted that link on multiuniverse theory. There is no scientific evidence for God. I guess it depends on how you look at the universe. I do appreciate the way you have worded your questions, very polite and not insulting.

Oh sorry , you are wrong here basically ,

You have no means to Close your Mind ,

The fact having evidence will appeal to the mind , even you don't like this.

I've only seen one other question from you, so, "No", I can't say that you are not open-minded. In fact, from this post you see very logical and open-minded.

Never stop searching for the truth!

When you don't agree with someone else... you're labelled close-minded... that is always how it works (except for those few that aren't close-minded - in which case you engage in discussion until you understand exactly why you disagree - then you probably agree to disagree)

I had some "friends" in college, who ganged up on me one night... tried to convince me they were right about something. I told them, yes, thanks, but no thanks, I think you're wrong.

They refused to give my viewpoint any credence, and said I "was not listening"... I said I was listening. So they said I was "only hearing them" and not REALLY listening. Today, one of them is 25 and an alcoholic in his mom's basement. The other... I don't know, he sort of disappeared after losing contact with all of our mutual friends.

Sure. You don't have an open mind. That wasn't so hard.

I don't see why ask provocative questions or why you care if believers think you have an open mind.
