I just now tried doing some pushups with a 20 pound backpack on, so I can report to you that you'll be just fine!

Probably, because your not used to putting that much more weight on your back. If i were u i would do normal pushups and start adding the weights a little bit at a time.

good luck

Hi, you sounds like a bit worried about your biceps than your back. It is advisable to consult a professional trainer, health practitioner, and family doctor before engaging into it so fast.
It not worth it to sustain a back injury that may bugs you for the rest of your life time.
Good luck...

not really. If you can keep the weight centered in the shoulder region and not have it shift you should be ok. but if you are just starting with adding weight start light then build up dont start at twenty right off start with10lbs then work your way up so that you will be come accostom to the weight and not hurt yourself.

you shouldn't start off with 20 pounds at first. you should start with a low weight and gradually go up. but yeah you can do that

if you dont do them correctly yes, just carefull where you place it, never in your lower back, always on shoulders. as long as your position is good and you do them righ its fine, but if your not mr muscle go down on the weight

Most likely yes. this is a dangerous way to increase resistance and adds the possibility of poor form.

If you do, strap it between your shoulders. Putting it on your lower back could create an injury.

You should probably put it up between your shoulder blades, and not on your lower back, but you should be fine.
