This TV maybe an old one (coughs...CRT...coughs) but it has superb picture quality. Then, it became ill. The picture is kind of jumpy/bouncy (screen goes up-down-up-down like a trampoline). Is there a remedy to this?

If there is no solution, should I have it repaired or replaced? Why?

Obviously I don't know how old your television is, but I am of the opinion that if it is fairly old, and has developed a problem its all downhill from here onwards. Once you get a problem with a television its just one thing after the other.
televisions are reasonably priced now and I wouldnt recommend paying out money for repairs for something else to go wrong next month.

It would be advisable to consult a qualified engineer, however it seems as though the processor is unable to stabilise the energy consumed, hence the reason the picture playback is in a wave like effect. Depending on the age of the TV and actual fault, this can possibly be expensive to repair.

It maybe wiser to actually prepare yourself to invest in a new Television

There used to be adjustable horizontal and vertical hold slots in the back of older sets. It should be a fairly easy thing for an engineer to fix. Unfortunately the call out will probably exceed the repair charge these days!

Just replace it. Cathode ray tubes just go bad after a while. TVs are cheap these days. Of course depending on the size you might be able to go someplace and have them fix it, if it's worth it. Probably not though.

You should check your connection's on your t.v. make sure there's no loose connection's or a short in the wire. My t.v. was doing something like that and it's a old t.v. ,but I replace the cable wires and it's clear as can be now.If that doesn't work then you might need to get a new one or just take it to a electronics's shop to be repair if you want to be cheaper.
