This should be the Religion, Spirituality, & Ideology section. That would save on all the questions about Atheists, Agnostics, Bubhists, and Pantheists.

I, for one, view an atheist as a "pre-Christian" (not that there's any guarantee that any particular atheist will open his/her heart and mind to the love and mercy of the one true God).

I also believe that being LGBorT is how that person is born. NO, I do NOT believe that being "gay" is a choice. So, a "gaybasher" would be someone who is intolerant and abusive of others and will probably NOT enter into that life.

An atheist is someone who MIGHT enter into the Christian life.

Huge difference between the two.

Also, I (again for one) welcome and enjoy the mature and responsible comments and questions from atheists (as opposed to the adolescents who think they're being original by posting noise).

You mean this isn't the LGBT section? It seems like most of the questions here are about either homosexuality or evolution.

To answer, no, because atheism is a valid religious position, whereas gaybashing is just irrational bigotry.

Don't think so, gaybashers are hateful, ignorants who troll whenever they can. We atheists just like the discussions, laugh at some of the questions fundies and creationists ask, and socialize. Also drinks.

You are more. Atheism is a valid position in theological philosophy. Atheist positions are valid in discussing matters pertaining to religion.

The gay bashers do not raise questions or provide answers germaine to LGBT issues.

You'd be no more of a basher than anyone else on here. We're all pretty equal when it comes to frustration and backhanded comments. But it's still a good debate.

The subtle difference is that homosexuals, as a rule, don't say love me, or burn in hell.

There is a difference between legislating morality, and legislating for civil rights.

If religion is unable to stand up to any challenges, or even just probing questions, then really, what good is religion?

So of course there is a difference.

Only if you're actually bashing. But anyone can come here who has opposing opinions. If they are respectful and friendly, I wouldn't call consider them bashing no matter what they believe (or don't believe).

I know many spiritual atheists, and since this is Religion and SPIRITUALITY I'd say you are right in line with being here.
