Lots of folk blame God for all the bad things that happen in the world. However do those same folk give God credit for all the good things that happen? I doubt it.
I have known Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord for 30yrs, yet I myself suffer a lot of things that I could blame God for if I was not a believer: firstly I am totally deaf, second I have no balance and to cop it all I am showing too many signs of MS that I care to think about.
Do these warrant being on your horrible illness list?
Do I love God less for that? No, my love for the Lord is made all the stronger in my illness. For I know that one day soon I shall live for a final day on earth and then be ushered into heaven to be in Christs presence for eternity.
What of yourself? Will you miss eternity just because you would not believe in God?, would not accept his Son as your saviour?
You have been given the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel, do so for your sake, you won't have a chance once you are dead.

Satan has dominion over the earth right now, so God doesn't give people horrible illnesses, Satan does. You need to give credit where credit is due and that belongs to Satan.

It is difficult to understand why God ALLOWS children to suffer and be hurt. But we have to have faith that God knows what's He's doing....and He does.

Finally, it doesn't really matter if you don't believe in God because He believes in you!

A person should not worship a deity through fear, if they do, then that's their problem...

No deity 'lets' these things happen, people just find it an easy way out to blame them on other beings. After all, why take the blame on yourself when you can blame a god?

Granted, it's not always the persons fault, but also, a lot of people use gods as scapegoats for their mistakes.

If they started smiting people constantly, it would be a pretty desolate world would it not? It's not their place to interfere, the world is what we make it, not they.

I do believe in God, the God I believ in gave us our own free will at the very begining, it is mans sinful nature that causes all the things stated above, and mans sinful nature that has made us grow distant from God, that is the reason he sent his Son Jesus, to bridge the gap so we could all devlope a personal relationship with a just and loving God. God would not cause hurt and pain on His children (how he sees us) but as He gave us free will he can't control what happens on earth unless we ask His intervention, but sadly very few people think to ask anymore, they just wait till its gone wrong then blame Him instead. By the way, you mention illnesses, I have spent my life being plagued by Cancer and cancer scares and I have not once blamed God.

Well, if you argue that god is responsible about bad things (or he just lets them happen), you can also argue that god is responsable for the good things. Right?
Believe means that you do not need proof of something to accept it as true. If God you use those examples as proof that God doesn't exist, then you do not believe. For example you do not believe you have a body, because you can see it, hear it, smell it and touch it. You do not need blind faith to acknowledge that you have a body. With God is the opposite. Since there is no way to acknowledge god (other than methods that can not be shared other than experience), you either believe in God or you don't.

God doesnt do that MAN does!! How much money have u donated to homeless shelters, under-priviledged countries, 2 medical research? Do u feel a responsibility 2 helping make this world a better place? or do u rather just blame God? God gave us this world and all the goodness thereof and we r destroying it! Then we sit on r high horses and blame him 4 all the greed,lust,dishonesty,ego-driven lifestyles that we have. Shame on u, really! Would u have it that he took our free-will away & treated us like robots because we dont know how to take care of ourselves and/or each other? Blessings be with you.

you shouldn't. you and everyone else are perfectly capable people, who can either sit in church fruitlessly trying to pray problems away or you can do something constructive. And if it turns out you are wrong and there is a god, which person do you think he would have most respect for.
People have to learn to except that we are here on our own, there is no point to life and death is probably the end.
The only thing any of us can do is make life as pleasant as possible for everyone.

We are descendants of a man and woman that satan conned into having these afflictions. God gave man free will. Unless he completely takes that away, it is up to man to look out for our own. I see nothing but tears from our God when what you described above happens to his children. Perhaps that is why he takes so many of them early so they don't have to bear the suffering. I don't know, have faith, that is all any of us really have at the end of the day.

Take out the part about allowing people to suffer and be hurt, and there's still no reason to believe, if you don't naturally believe. If you've been indoctrinated, and believe in him with all your heart, that's fine...more power to you. But if you take a second (that's all it takes) to actually have the cajones to *question* what it's really all about...then there's no reason to believe if you don't want to. At any real questioning, the whole idea falls apart like crock pot roast.
