My friend and I were discussing about Sufism and how blaming other must be avoided. While my friend was driving, he broke a Stop sign. Instead of taking responsibility, he started complaining how it was awkward place to have a Stop sign which made me think he blamed the placement of Stop sign rather then taking the ownership that we were taking while driving that actually did it for us.
So I turned to him and said “Are you thinking, what I am thinking?” and he looks at me with a grin and says “Thank God, no Cops”

I freakin gave up.

That is kind of the point that I was trying to make with my last question. Some person asked a vague question about what to do for Christmas if you have no family, and several people responded with religious ideas -- which she obviously hated.

Instead of taking responsibility for asking a vague, open ended question which was easily misunderstood, she attacked the motives of the responders and accused us of trying to "preach" to her, or making "assumptions" about her (of course we made "assumptions" -- the question was vague).

Young people seem to have a hard time accepting responsibility for their own actions.

First of all, I hope you don't let your friend drive you around anymore. Sounds dangerous!

Anyway, I think most humans will always have the tendency to blame others for their mistakes. They don't want to suffer the consequences of their actions.

I'm not sure I get your point, but I think you are asking why it is that people don't accept responsibility for their actions and instead blame someone else?

Americans are world famous for refusing to assume responsibility for our (poor) actions, even our president!

Why take responsibility when you can sue someone else and get rich?

You cannot deny God's hand in such an opportune lack of law enforcers at the time....

Of course, I'm being sarcastic...
