This completely varies from state to state - some don't allow for parental consent at all, then others allow for it as long as you are 16, still others have no age limit on the parental consent.
Probably best to google tattoo age and your state's name.

In most countries you have to be 18 to get it alone, but alot of tattoo shops might not even check id. but as for going with a parent thats how they usually work...either your 18 or if you younger you need a parent of gaurdian to be with you and to sign a consent form. But if I were you I'd just wait until your 18 unless you know that what you want to tattoo on your body is gonna be there forever. I wanted one when I was 16 and I'm now 19 and I still havent gotten it. You just need to make sure that is what you really want on your body for the rest of your life. Or just get it were it wont be seen when you get older.

Yes, you have to be 18. Any younger than that, you need to fill out a form and bring your parentals with you. BUT, some tattoo artists don't want to tattoo on anyone younger than 18 because you're still growing, and your skin might not be ready... You just need to visit before deciding ..

I don't know about America. But in England, NO you can't get a tattoo till you're 18 (with or without a parent) I got my first tatto when I was 14, but I used a fake ID.

You can. But getting a tatoo is a sorta right of passage. you really should wait till your 18. but yes you can get one as young as 16.

You can get one when below 18 but technically its still breaking the law which is choice by the person/place who's doing it
