My mothers ancestors were from Germany and they immigrated in the 1880's they settled in Iowa because they were farmers back in the old country. Iowa is a green state between our two largest rivers and the last ice age removed most of the rocks in the soil and left rich black earth. my fathers family immigrated from what is now Slovakia. they left their homes with the promise of jobs on large wheat farms in the state of North Dakota, After they save enough money they moved to Iowa bought land and started farming. My Father was born in 1917 and had 1 sister. My mother's family moved into town when my Great Grand Father got a job in Cedar Rapids Iowa. My mother was the first of 6 kids and was born in 1921. She was the only one to graduate from high school . Got a job and purchased a house that was qiuickly filled with her parents and youngest brother. When WW2 was ragin in the rest of the world my father was called up in 1940 to start building army's. My mother and Father almost met when all the younger women went to see them off at the train station, and they were probably a few feet apart. My father fought in many battles and he was one of 32 men that came home from the end of war, that is 32 of 400 original soldiers. They were both single in 1949, when my Fathers best friend and his wife who was my mothers best friend, set them up to meet at their house for dinner. They were introduced and my fathers friend said George this is Bernadean, Bernadean this is George, i'll be the best man at your wedding. And he was. They had me in 1951 and my younger brother in 1955. They were older at the time they married than was the normal age, And we lived a good life with parents that loved each other very much , and the stability of parents that were financially secure, We were not wealthy but we traveled all over the USA on vacations. They turn out to be memories that my brother who is married, and I , single, look back on as the greatest gift we were ever given. I hope this is what you were looking for, Good by and good health to you and your family.

Well, my dad hails from Iran, in a little village on the Iran-Iraq border, so that makes me half-Iranian! Woo-hoo! Also, I read Iran's citizenship laws online, and apparently I'm a citizen since my father was born there! Never even been there and I can claim dual citizenship--how great is that?! Unfortunately I don't look mid-eastern whatsoever, but hey--who cares?!
My mother's side is European. The farthest back I know about the family is that they owned slaves somewhere in Georgia and used to own the plot of land that Disney World is now situated on... Hmmm...it's be cool to go to Utah and look up my complete family history!!!
