hi, i already know quite a lot on the subject of sports nutrition such as how much food etc, i just want to know how long should it take before i get more defined and toned, i have a naturally large frame anyway, but how many weeks am i looking at to see good results and training 3days a week for 45min, and eating plenty of protein mainly how much muscle gain am i looking to get in inches say in a month

from that it's impossible to say, Without knowing exactly what you are taking in and what kind and intensity of workout. Also it depends on what you mean by defined and toned. You probably know about slow and fast twitch fibers and that fast twitch give greater size and definition, but muscle gain is an asymptote function, meaning that the bigger you are the harder it is to get bigger, keeping your workout the same your inches per month will decrease every month. It also depends on where you are at now of course, your weight, height etc...

Based on what I see I'd say your exercise routine is minimum, and remember more protein does not mean more muscle, anything you don't use your body will store as fat, using that routine I wouldn't take protein on the days you don't work out, and only one gram for every 2.5 or three pounds you weigh on the days you do.
