My first thought was fleas, but the vet says no.He put the dog on medication which eventually (2 days) wears off.

Does any one have any answers and solutions for the poor little thing

What is the medication? If it's for allergies then let the vet know it's not working. Sometimes my dogs get heat rashes and I've found that aloe works great. It's soothing, and if they lick it after you've rubbed it on it won't hurt them.

Yeah, the vet has answers and solutions. Go back there!

No one here is going to be able to help. There are no vets here, and even if there were is just isn't possible to offer advice or solutions over the internet. All you'll get on here is a bunch of guesses - please don't start attempting different treatments without veterinary advice.

Go back to the vet and tell them the problem is not resolved. They will continue investigation. These sorts of problem can be very complicated - it's why vets go to med school for 5 years, so they can find out the answers to medical problems in animals.

If you're not happy with the advice you're getting from your current vet, please go to another. But don't expect to read anything useful on Yahoo!

my dog shilo started itching a while ago and we all wondered what was wrong. he started itching inside his war alot too and it started getting really raw and stuff, then he started biting at his paws and so on. so we took him to the vet and they just gave him some medication for the itching. it didnt stop it tho so we took him to another doctor and it turns out it was a big deal about his itching. i dont know all the details but if we hadnlt taken him in, who knows what would have happened. i think you should take him to another vet just to be sure. it could be something serious or it could be a really small thing but either way, you should bring him in. other wise, i doubt your dog will stop his itching
good luck

Did the vet do a skin scrape and look under the microscope? That is one way for the vet to rule out skin parasites. Could be an allergic reaction to food, treats, etc....

My pup does this as well, I put him on Advantage, but after like 2 weeks I see the scratching has begun again. I dont see any fleas, but who knows? I think its allergies, since he always sneezes, the vet acts like its no big deal.

My dog started doing that because she had dry skin. Bething her with special soap and putting special lotion on it helped her.
