Ok, Right now I have a 20 something inch TV from like 1983. It only weighs like 200 pounds so as far as old TV's go it's not bad. So what's the problem? I would like to get a newer TV that won't break my VERY small bank account. Something around $100 and over 20 inches. Does such a thing even exist? Really would like to know where I could get something like this. Does the black market have a website? LOL

The cheapest new TV I've seen for around $100 is a 13 inch digital TV. It's avalible at Meijer stores. It costs $119.99. It has a digital tuner that will work after February 2009. It may be small but in 2 years if you have an antenna, you won't be complaining. You might be able to find a 20 inch TV for about $200 but I'm not sure. Just browse the different websites & comparison shop.

(This answer assumes you are in the US)

You are not going to find anything new for $100. The first link below is to a 24" RCA (with digital tuner) for $175. You might find some store brand for a little less but I wouldn't recommend them.

Used TVs bring very little money these days. A lot of people are replacing these with flat panel TVs which is driving the price of used CRT TV down.

A 24" in like new condition should be less than $50. Stick to brand names. Craigslist is the best place to start looking. A good network of friends & relatives is even better.

If you are getting TV through an antenna, you will need a converter box after 2/17/09 on your old TV or any other TV that doesn't have a digital tuner built in. In Jan 08 there will be a coupon program that will let you buy one for about $20.

Craigslist or eBay. Used is probably going to be your best bet to find something in your price range that is newer and bigger than what you currently have. I'm sure you're aware that it won't be the best, but it should be an upgrade. I would say try craigslist.org first and see if you can find something available in your area. With so many people upgrading to HDTVs lately you should be able to find a descent tube TV that someone is trying to get rid of.

Good luck.

Your best bet is to buy a cheap LCD monitor and a Video Processor (see sources for links). That way you'll have a nice, flat screen, HDTV, and will also be ready for the 2009 analog TV shutoff.

It depends on what you want to do. After all, in 2009 they are going to switch over to HDTV and the old TV sets will need a converter which will cost around $300 at current prices. Try looking in the newspaper. When people buy their HDTV sets, they have to sell their old TV sets , generally at a steep discount.
