If you've already talked about it, he's probably thinking hard about it. Just wait.

Ah! This is a situation that calls for a serious conversation. Find a time where the both of you are free from stress and other emotional things. . . where you both are clear headed. Tell him that you care about him a lot and think that it is time that you take your relationship to the next level: proposal then marriage. Ask him about his fears about the situation. This might also be a time where you two need to discuss if you both are compatible enough together for marriage. Maybe even a talk with your family and his would be good depending on you twos relationships with your families.

I would ask him straight out what his plans for you two are over the next couple of years. Keep in mind that "ready" is different for men then it is for women. We are ready when we have found someone we can be committed to for the rest of our lives. Men (for the most part) need to feel they are financially secure and in a position to support a family. They feel this way even if you are working and planning to work. It's just they way they are built. Good luck!

Just be honest, tell him how you feel. If this is something that is bothering you do it soon. I was in a relationship for seven years and felt the same way but never said anything. I ended up leaving him and he was devasted. Now I realize I should've talked to him about it, things could've been different.

pop the question. (thats stating the obvious)

u seem like a close couple if u are talkin about kids houses etc. so why not just have a cosy night in some night and talk with him about it. tell him u know in ur own heart that u know he is the man that u want to spend the rest of your life with!
im sure he will pop the question to u before u know it.

good luck.

If you two have already talked about kids and house then surely yall have already talked about marriage. Just bring it up again and see where he stands. He may not be ready...most guys don't want to take that kind of a committment at that age.

Just through little hints..like ah what a beautiful "wedding ring" when you and he pass by the Jewelry Store in the mall. Or stop near a wedding dress shop just to look in. Ask him where does he see himself in the next 5 years. (See if marriage is an option)

Has he met your parents? Have your dad sit him down and talk to him about the proper way to continue a long-term relationship. That's what my friend's dad did to her boyfriend of four years and now they're married.

I don't think you should hint at it yourself because a lot of guys get seriously spooked by that.

Just tell him. If you can't be open and honest about your feelings before you get married, how will it be after? You always need to be able to talk and share. It is very important to your relationship.
