Jesus said to eat and drink "in remembrance of Me" in the Last Supper and to make it a traditional ritual after He is gone and to always remember what He has done for us.

I never call Protestants "literalists" -- I don't even know where that word comes from.

As for eating and drinking the Body and Blood of Christ, read John chapter 6. Given that Christ repeated what He said, and that He didn't call back those who left Him on account of this teaching, it's clear that He was speaking literally, not figuratively.

I think most Protestants who believe in the ineffable accuracy of the Bible are known as "Bible Literalists", and not just "Literalists".

I guess you could call Catholics "Eucharist Literalists" if you were so inclined, and would be technically correct as well.
