I know this is a random question, but a co-worker gave me a pack of Shocktarts and after eating two my tongue was bleeding. Should I not suck on them like hard candy, and just chew them right away instead. (If that's the case I won't eat them because I hate chewing sugary candy. I'm just curious.)

probably because of the concentrated acids in the candy that make them sour.

Does the candy get sharp edges as you suck on it? I have the same problem with certain hard candies. I can't eat Jolly Ranchers, lollipops, or anything like that, because for some reason, they just cut my tongue up.

Sometimes the sour sugar can peal off part of the skin on the tongue. I used to eat sour spray but it would peal the skin off the top of my mouth.
Don't eat it.

Sour candy shouldn't make your tongue bleed. Don't eat it.
