If you full well knew that your best male friend was in love with you, why would you still hang out with him? Just for attention?

She tells me she loves me but she's not ready to date anyone or be in a relationship . . . she just got out of a 7 year relationship like 6 months ago and she's still recovering . . . she came across a stupid craigslist confession I did and she knew it was me. Dumb huh!

hello i dont think it is just for attention if you have a best friend it must be hard to break off that friendship this is quite a difficult one but what about both of you sitting down and having a good talk about this it would be a shame to stop being friends altogether as good friends are hard to find good luck to you both God Bless

I have had male friends express their love interest in me before. After I tell them that I don't feel the same way and it won't go any further than a friendship type relationship it usually ends there. We both know it would be too awkward to continue the friendship so there is not point in trying. Some people are probably able to continue it, but for me I couldn't.

Why would I still hang out with him? Well why not? Just because I know he loves me i'm not gonna start to ignore him and stop hanging out with him just because of that. Also because now that i know he loves me i might start to look at him in a different way and maybe get to like him the same way.

That is no reason to end a good friendship. If the two of them don't care to date for whatever reason and just want to be friends one of them loving the other is bound to happen.
