Put it on its side on the counter and spin it. If it spins perfectly, it's boiled. If it wobbles, it's raw.

Spin it. A hard boiled egg spins faster than a raw egg. Also a raw egg will continue spinning if you stop it then let go again ( as the insides are liquid ) whereas a hard boiled egg will stay still once stopped.

believe it or not.....roll it. Before you boil an egg, roll it on the counter...you will see that it will roll off to either side of the counter. Boil it and roll it again....it it rolls straight forward, it's hard boiled...if it rolls a slight bit to either side...it's soft boiled.

Spin it, stop it briefly and let go. If it starts spinning again, it's raw, if it doesn't, it's boiled.
