I'm looking for under 5 dollars a head. My colors are black and white with red roses. I believe the favors is a great place for me to cut back on the budget, but I'm really not that creative. I wanted to buy everyone a bottle of wine, but I think 15 dollars a head is a bit excessive for a favor.

A red rose candle would go perfect with your colors and they're under $2 a pop!

$10,000 will do just fine, but how creative are you? Do your own centerpices, (go online to view some ideas) which should be very simple since you have the outdoors for your atmosphere. A buffet is the only way to go since it's outdoors too. Keep your flowers simple too. A tent is a must because you never know how the weather is going to be. David's Bridal is a great place to shop for dresses. Do you have to invite 300 people? Really take a look at the list. When was the last time you saw some of these people? Call around and check with photographers. See what they offer and compare prices. Is this going to be at a park or country club. The park would be cheaper. As for the liquor, only offer wine, and beer, and champage only for the toast. With doing the outdoors thing, you may have to rent tables, chairs and table coverings. Are you wanting a band or DJ? A DJ would be cheaper, but make sure you two are on the same page as to what kind of music you would want. Being outside, you will have to rent a dance floor too. Talk to you caterer about servers too. Do you want someone going around with trays of drinks? I'd get a bar setup (for that many people, maybe two) and let people go get their own drinks and food. You can get deals at various stores if you buy in bulk. Again, talk to your caterer and see what they have to offer. Don't stress too much, as even the best planned weddings never go off without something going wrong. It's just something to laugh about in the years to come. Good Luck! Sherry already answered you and she has some really great suggestions and ideas. I looked at her photos and her centerpieces were great for the outdoors.

I bought hershey kiss roses they were $1 a piece well actually cheaper because I bought on ebay in bulk... I used them as my center pieces, my bouquets, and my favors. Everyone loved them and they smelled amazing! My wedding colors were pink black and white I bought the pink and white hershey kiss roses and tied them with black ribbon!

Also we bought these little crystal flower pots I believe they were $3 a piece off ebay too but they were only given to special guests

Yes I'm cheap I know ... But if you want I can link you to the shops and such if you like the ideas ...

Good luck!!!

I love the idea of using a picture frame as a place card holder. That way the guests can take the picture frame home as a favor. Tie a ribbon around the back stand piece with a little card that reads:
" A picture is worth a 1000 words, but family and friends are priceless. We hope you use this to frame those you love for we truly cherish you. -Thank You, Mr & Mrs. Smith Oct 30,'07"

Why have favors at all? Many guests find them annoying, rather than gratifying. Unless hosts can give each guest a little diamond and gold trinket from Tiffany's, a la Donald Trump, they look a little silly trying to ape the Rolls Royce customs of "The Beautiful People" on a Ford Focus budget (IMPO). Use the $200 you save to hire a better band or get a more convenient location -- something that will actually add pleasure to your guests' experience.

I went to a wedding this summer where the colors were pale yellow and green, and the party favors were tic tacs, the citrus twist flavor. They just printed up a sticker with their namesand wedding date and everyone thought it was cool and were eating them. I don't know about black, but you can buy white tic tacs and red ones, and put both colors on the tables for variety.

Got you covered! I have no less than 3 five gallon bucket fulls of hotel shampoo and soap (unused) that you can have if you'll pay the shipping. You can throw a couple of bars of soap and shampoos into some snack sized ZipLoc bags and there you go, personal hygene travel kits! Who couldn't use those? Oh, also you could get a sharpie and monogram them all for your attendants to make them extra special and give them that personal touch, they will treasure them forever!

Mini white wine bottles with personal labels. They go for around $3.25 a bottle:

Since I have 2 daughter's getting married, I'm making flower pens for their wedding. They are easy to make & very inexpensive. All you need is silk flowers(red rose), ink pens & green floral tape. I'll send you a pic if you want to see one...

we had bookmarks made with our wedding date on it. maybe a shot glass or wine glass etched with the date on it. you can brew your own beer and make labels yourself with the date. if you'd like to do the wine, find inexpensive bottles and label them yourselves. some wines are only $5 but I'm sure the mini bottles are cheaper. check out your local liquor store.
